Yesterday Twitter launched stories.twitter.com a nice site with the stories behind the 140 characters. Personal experiences, the humanity behind the virtual connections.

Every month Twitter will curate a selection of new Twitter Stories. And you can help.

Via a tweet to @twitterstories or by using the hashtag #twitterstories with links to video/photo that illustrates your story, your story could be published.

The first selection includes wonderful stories: Fishermen who sell their catch before they return to the port, Aaron Durand who saved saved his mom’s bookstore with a blogpost and a tweet and the story of Chris Strouth who tweeted “sh*t, I need a kidney” and got one.
